Fractions, decimals and percentages are really just different ways of writing the same thing – namely the proportion of something. You just need to know how to convert between the three of them.

**Decimals To Percentage**

EASY! Just multiply the decimal by 100.

0.46 = 46%, 1.32 = 132% etc**Percentage To Decimal**

EASY AGAIN! Just divide by 100.

82% = 0.82**Decimal To Fraction**

NOT SO EASY!

For most you can just put them over 10, 100 or 1000 etc depending on how many decimal places there are.

So 0.7 = 7/10

0.76 = 76/100

0.824 = 824/1000

Then you can simplify the fractions down.

If the decimal is recurring it gets tougher….see the Fractions and Recurring Decimals revision note.**Fraction To Decimal**

Just divide the top by the bottom. So 7/20 = 7 ÷ 20 = 0.35
