Graphing Simultaneous Equations

Sometimes you might be asked to solve simultaneous equations using graphs. You simply plot both equations on the graph and wherever they intersect are the solutions!Graphic simultaneous equations exampleHere you can see the two equations given cross when x = 2 and y = 3.

It’s as easy as that!

Remember though if one of the graphs is a curve or even a circle then you may get more than one solution.

Sometimes the examiners will just ask for you to give an approximate solution doing this.

We cover more on drawing graphs in the “Graphs” section.
